Street Photography

For this assignment we where challenged to find irony and/ or juxtaposition in our street photographs around the city. I have a new found respect for street photography now. The patience, attention to detail, and keen eye required to capture truly good street art is a skill. I am glad I got to practice mine for this assignment.

I enjoyed the way this sweet old dog decided to sit on this shop stoop. It doesn’t look very comfortable to me but he seems quite content.
I could not ignore the color combination these window shopping women where sporting here. They seem quite fashion savvy to me. I wonder what caught their eye in the window.
I feel this is the best example of juxtaposition I was able to capture. The graffitied heart hovering over this heap of burned goods struck me. I wonder what the story is here? Perhaps a lover scorned?
This bright orange sign translates to “for rent”. I find the placement of this sign ironic as it covers the topless manikin’s face.
Here is my best ironic shot. The “grovy” graffiti tagged on this crumbling wall with a very un-groovy women waiting for the bus seated next to it.
